The hostel is not next to the Basilica della Ghiara: it is inside the complex. It occupies the first floor of the cloister, which on the ground floor has a restaurant open to the city, a café from seven in the morning to midnight, and a courtyard where concerts and exhibitions happen in summer. It is also the largest of the four.

In the other three hostels the restaurant serves guests. Not here: downstairs is a place where people from Reggio come, which for a solo traveller is the difference between eating among guests and eating in town.
